It Wasn't A Hit And Run. It Was A Murder Plot
On the evening of 3rd July 2026, around 5:45 PM in Pratap Nagar, Jaipur, 45-year-old Neeraj Sharma was walking back home after dropping her specially-abled son at coaching. She was walking right on the edge of the road, just like any careful person would.
That’s when a white Scorpio came speeding from behind and ran straight over her. The impact was so brutal that Neeraj ji’s body was thrown nearly 100 feet away. She died on the spot.
At first glance, it looked like another common hit-and-run case. These accidents happen every day in India. But this case was different.
A few weeks before her death, someone had thrown a burning coconut, lemon, chilies, and red vermilion on the stairs of Neeraj ji’s house. It looked like black magic, like some tantric ritual. But the truth behind this case is far more chilling.
The black magic wasn’t done to harm Neeraj ji directly. It was done to scare her. The plan was to make her so afraid that she would leave her house. And the moment she stepped out, she would be removed from the path forever. And this entire plan wasn’t made by a stranger. It was made by her own daughter.
But why would she do this to her own mother? The answer isn’t that hard to guess.
The Property, The Job, The Grudge
On paper, Neeraj Sharma was an LDC - Lower Division Clerk in the Jaipur Lower Court. But in reality, properties and land worth crores were in her name. And that became the reason someone wanted her dead. The reason was simple: to take control of all her property.
These kinds of cases are not new. And in most of them, the culprit is always someone close, someone from the family. In Neeraj ji’s life too, her in-laws were that kind of people. Her relationship with them was not good at all.
All this property actually belonged to her late husband, Vijay Kumar Sharma. About a year ago, Vijay ji had died under unknown circumstances. His death shook the entire family because he was the only earning member.
Not only that, after her husband’s sudden death, Neeraj ji was not just in grief. She was also left completely alone. She now had the huge responsibility of taking care of her son and daughter, and paying for their education. Along with this responsibility, she also had to face hostility from her in-laws because before his death, Vijay ji had transferred all his money and property to Neeraj ji’s name.
Now, since Vijay ji worked as an LDC in the Jaipur court and died untimely, his government job was supposed to go to one family member under the Compassionate Appointment scheme. This is a social security scheme by the government. If the sole earning government employee dies, the job is given to the spouse or children to ensure the family remains financially secure.
But the very scheme meant to protect a broken family became the biggest reason for tension between Neeraj ji and her 24-year-old daughter Ayushi.
When it came to the compassionate appointment, Ayushi explicitly told her mother that she wanted the job. Ayushi knew how hard it was to crack government jobs. But here she was getting one without any exam, without any interview. Her career could be set for life. So she wanted that job at any cost.
But Ayushi’s maternal uncle, Rakesh Kumar Sharma, advised Neeraj ji to take the job for herself. Not out of greed, but because it was the sensible decision at that time—something Ayushi didn’t understand back then.
When Vijay ji died, Ayushi had just passed 12th. She still had to go to college. Rakesh ji knew that in a few years Ayushi would get married and might become too busy with her in-laws’ house to give time to a government job. If Neeraj ji had no source of income, how would she take care of herself and her specially-abled son who needed special care and a lot of money?
But this decision made Ayushi so bitter that constant fights started between her and Neeraj ji. Things got so bad that finally Ayushi left home and went to live with her uncle, Mohan Swaroop, in Jaipur. She and her cousin Balram took admission in LLB together, and it was allegedly in this environment that she first thought about removing her mother from her path.
The Plan, The Hitmen, The Black Magic
Anger and hatred can blind a person completely. After separating from her mother, Ayushi got close to the person who hated her mother the most: her uncle, Mohan Swaroop. Driven by greed, Ayushi made a plan with her uncle and cousin Balram that would fulfill all their wishes. Ayushi offered Mohan 5 bighas of land worth approximately 1 crore rupees.
To ensure she still received the government job, they had to make the murder look like an accident. Spending around 5 lakh rupees, they hired a 5-member hit squad led by 20-year-old Hemant Sharma, alongside Akash Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Rohit Yadav, and Arvind Sharma.
For months, Mohit Sharma closely monitored Neeraj ji’s daily movements. They discovered she walked to drop her son at a coaching center every day at 4:30 PM. Their first attempt involved renting a Thar to run her over, but Neeraj ji narrowly escaped by a few inches.
Terrified, Neeraj ji installed CCTV cameras and locked herself inside. To flush her out, the conspirators turned to psychological warfare. On 27th June, CCTV footage captured a burning coconut, vermilion, and dolls tied with sacred threads being thrown onto her staircase. They hoped the fear of black magic would force her out of the house, but she remained inside.
Finally, on 3rd July, they changed their strategy. Hemant rented a white Scorpio. Akash Sharma drove the vehicle while Arvind Sharma sat in the passenger seat to ensure maximum impact. As Neeraj ji returned from the coaching center, the car struck her brutally, killing her on the spot. The hitmen abandoned the car and fled on a motorcycle provided by their accomplice, Rohit.
When Ayushi reached the spot later, she put on a massive act of grief, crying uncontrollably to ensure no one suspected her.
How The Police Cracked It
The first person to suspect foul play was Neeraj ji’s brother, Rakesh Kumar Sharma. He knew about the intense property disputes and noticed that Ayushi's extreme grief miraculously vanished the very next day. He promptly filed an FIR naming Ayushi and her uncle's family.
Because the victim was an employee of the Lower Court, the police launched a swift investigation:
- CCTV Analysis: Footage from Pratap Nagar proved the car's movement pattern was deliberate, confirming premeditated murder.
- The Abandoned Vehicle: Police recovered the Scorpio quickly. Inside, they found leftover black magic items matching the materials thrown at Neeraj ji's house on 27th June.
- The Rental Trail: The car was tracked to Hemant Sharma, who had rented it for 35,000 rupees. His interrogation led straight to Mohan Swaroop and Ayushi.
When Ayushi was brought to Jaipur and interrogated with the hard evidence, officers noted a chilling detail: there was absolutely no remorse on her face.
The case took an even darker turn during the investigation. Rakesh ji has alleged that Ayushi was also responsible for her father Vijay ji’s sudden death a year prior. Allegations suggest she kept him in an unknown private hospital during a stroke, and later intentionally removed his feeding tube. The police are actively investigating these claims.
Blinded by shortcuts, greed for land, and a government job, a 24-year-old daughter shattered her own family, leaving her disabled brother entirely helpless. It remains a grim reminder of how deeply greed can rot human relationships.
